INSPECTOR
Our firm is a midsize firm that specializes in design and construction management of water/wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and landfills. Our business model of slow growth and quality over quantity has led to long term clients and numerous established staff members. Projects consist of new construction as well as rehabilitation of existing facilities and infrastructure. One way we represent our owners and look out for their interest during construction is through a resident inspector.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Observe contractor work for general conformance with plans/specifications (not directing means-and-methods).
- Verify materials and installation: pipe type/class, gaskets, fittings, bedding, backfill, trench width, compaction, etc.
- Witness and coordinate required tests (pressure, compaction, concrete, etc.) and document results.
- Maintain daily inspection reports: weather, manpower/equipment, work completed, stationing, materials delivered, tests performed, issues/decisions. Maintain photo documentation and maintain field markups and red lines for record drawings.
- Track submittal and verify installed items match approved submittals.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in design and construction of water and wastewater projects minimum of 10 years
- Experience reading and applying plans, profiles, details, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills

DESIGNER – DRAFTSMAN
Our firm is a midsize firm that specializes in design and construction management of water/wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and landfills. Our business model of slow growth and quality over quantity has led to long term clients, numerous established staff members, and exceptional training opportunities. We are hands on with projects at all stages: master planning, conceptual, preliminary, surveying, drafting, designing, construction management, and ongoing operations. Projects consist of new construction as well as rehabilitation of existing facilities and infrastructure.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Create construction drawings in CAD and Revit.
- Support basic engineering task including quantity take offs, simple sizing and layout iterations based on engineer guidance, utility conflict identification and adjustments.
- Complete QA/QC drawing checks for consistent stationing and formatting.
- Complete mark ups and prepare as-built record drawings.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
- Ability to reach and produce plan and profile sheets, construction details, and sheet sets.
- Working knowledge of water and sewer utility components.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preffered Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in design and construction of water and wastewater projects.
- Associates degree in drafting, CAD, Revit, or related field.

PROJECT ENGINEER
Our firm is a midsize firm that specializes in design and construction management of water/wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and landfills. Our business model of slow growth and quality over quantity has led to long term clients, numerous established staff members, and exceptional training opportunities. We are hands on with projects at all stages: master planning, conceptual, preliminary, surveying, drafting, designing, construction management, and ongoing operations. Projects consist of new construction as well as rehabilitation of existing facilities and infrastructure.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Work with lead members on preliminary studies, design, and construction management for municipal water, wastewater projects
- Hydraulic, environmental, structural, civil, and geotechnical analysis
- Topographical surveying and drafting
- Prepare cost estimates, reports, plans, and specifications for projects
- Review and prepare any necessary regulatory agency permit applications
- Field inspection and engineering of ongoing projects
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
- EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Physically able to perform work as necessary in the field
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in typical computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preffered Qualifications:
- Experience in related field up to 2 years
- Proficient in CAD and GIS programs (AutoCAD, ESRI, WaterCAD, etc.)

- Lead teams as engineer on record on preliminary studies, design, and construction management for municipal water, wastewater projects.
- Hydraulic, environmental, structural, civil, and geotechnical analysis.
- Prepare cost estimates, reports, plans, and specifications for projects.
- Work with owners to identify solutions to current and existing problems.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
- Experience in design and construction of water and wastewater projects minimum of 8 years
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama
- Excellent leadership and project management skills
Preffered Qualifications:
- Proficient in CAD and GIS programs (AutoCAD, ESRI, WaterCAD, etc.)
